The event, now in its ninth year, featured a 5k run and a one-mile walk, both of which were completely sold out. Participants began lining up at 7 a.m. to pick up their race numbers and shirts, with the run officially starting at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>A costume contest kicked off the festivities, with many attendees donning creative outfits. Brian and Stacy, two participants, shared their excitement for the event. &#8220;Mine was the hat. Hers was the shirts. We are both teachers, so we&#8217;re always ready to dress up,&#8221; they said. The couple opted for the 5k run, expressing their enthusiasm for the post-run treats. &#8220;A banana, but then a lot of sweet potatoes. She came up with it,&#8221; he said.
