I\u2019m not a Gap devotee, but I have to admit, the renovation of the Marina store has completely transformed the brand\u2019s hometown outpost. The refreshed space feels brighter, more inviting, and surprisingly gift-friendly, with everything from vinyl records to charming socks and scarves. There\u2019s a kids\u2019 section too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Madewell, meanwhile, is offering a less expensive alternative to brands like Buck Mason. For out-of-towners, the variety of<a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2023\/10\/06\/san-francisco-stonestown-japanese-retail-shopping\/\" data-post-id=\"423e34ab-25b9-4d70-87b0-bcf0576e7f9e\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Asian brands<\/a> at Stonestown are fun to check out: Korean skincare specialist Candy Doll Beauty, Japanese discount store Daiso, and of course, Chinese toy seller PopMart. Stonestown has it all: out-of-the-ordinary shopping, <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2025\/07\/03\/stonestown-restaurants-best\/\" data-post-id=\"9c74c1c7-0add-4aa4-ba20-785b0def9894\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">outstanding food<\/a>, a full-on arcade, a movie theater, and occasional <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2025\/06\/11\/labubu-toy-craze-san-francisco-pop-mart\/\" data-post-id=\"7abc2a0d-9b0a-4b3e-80c8-a171f2b84fc8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Labubu brawls<\/a>. What more do you need?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">The mall also has a surprisingly good vintage store, 2nd Street. This place is a goldmine for well-priced Japanese vintage and secondhand gems, particularly shoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Stonestown also has\u00a0the city\u2019s only Uniqlo outpost. This brand is great for many things, but perhaps its best quality is that its clothing looks as good on you as it does on your mother, brother, and niece. The fall\/winter collection includes a handful of pieces by Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior. I\u2019m obsessed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniqlo.com\/us\/en\/products\/E479816-000\/00?colorDisplayCode=63&amp;sizeDisplayCode=029\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">straight-leg jeans (opens in new tab)<\/a> \u2014 100% cotton, stupidly comfortable in an early \u201990s style, and only $60.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">3251 20th Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Bonus picks for the vintage hounds<img alt=\"This image shows a vintage clothing store with rows of colorful shirts and jackets hanging on racks. What about a perfectly beaten-up Carhartt jacket or a worn-in pair of 501s? Look no further than Big Time Vintage. With shops on Haight Street and Valencia Street, owner Bong Tigua has gotten so good at serving up vintage, he\u2019s become a <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2025\/04\/06\/vintage-clothes-drake-golden-state-warriors\/\" data-post-id=\"0b4ba9f1-f834-4bf6-a749-413df0d129c7\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">go-to for celebrities visiting the Bay Area<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">968 Valencia St. and\u00a0 1630 Haight St.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">Cookin\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">For the home cook, this place is heaven.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-block article-body undefined text-left\">You don\u2019t need a plane ticket to Paris to track down the best vintage cookware. Since 1989, Judy Kaminski has been selling classic French pots, pans, and culinary curios from her small shop, drawing in some of the Bay Area\u2019s most celebrated chefs.
