I grew up in Baltimore City (Northeast), and my whole career has been city-based. Mayor Lurie’s approach is a refreshing class study in organization and imagination. My beloved city used to have both — dollar home lotteries, Harborplace, Flower Mart, hockey under a dome, a clean and safe downtown business district, etc. I would reckon that any urban city administration that would have the competency to tackle homelessness, as Mayor Lurie has displayed thus far, would also have a head start toward what it takes to initiate and manage all the other quality of life issues that come into play in running a city. We can only hope.

— Tom Craten, Baltimore

Add your voice: Respond to this piece or other Sun content by submitting your own letter.

A great column by Torrey Snow (“What a federal shift on housing policy means for Maryland,” Nov. 26),…

[30
22676,969,16444,4415,101,103,102,104,106,105
post-73511","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-san-francisco","tag-baltimore","tag-homeless","tag-lurie","tag-mayor","tag-san-francisco","tag-san-francisco-headlines","tag-san-francisco-news","tag-sf","tag-sf-headlines","tag-sf-news
["GET
