The holiday season is in full swing across Kern County, with festive events lighting up the California Living Museum (CALM), Tehachapi, and Bakersfield.<\/p>\n

CALM Zoo is launching its annual “Holiday Lights” fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 29, as part of a 20-year master plan for expansion.<\/p>\n

Steve Sanders from KCSOS emphasized the importance of community support, saying, “If people go to calmzoo.org,<\/a> they’re going to see a master plan for our dreams we have for CALM. And every investment in a ticket for Holiday Lights, gets us one step closer to making that dream a reality.”<\/p>\n

In Tehachapi, a new snow globe photo opportunity is drawing families to Railroad Park.<\/p>\n

Bailey Damian shared the excitement, noting, “It’s the first time we’re doing it this year… It’s going to be open through the holidays.”<\/p>\n

Tehachapi’s Hometown Christmas event<\/a> on Saturday, Dec. 6, will feature activities from noon to 4 p.m., followed by a Christmas parade at 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

Damian added, “Tehachapi truly just forms into a Hallmark movie that day.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bakersfield’s Christmas Town at the Kern County Fairgrounds<\/a> opens Friday, Nov. 28, and runs through Jan. 3, offering a large light display and various holiday festivities.<\/p>\n
