{"id":73995,"date":"2025-11-29T03:39:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T03:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/73995\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T03:39:09","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T03:39:09","slug":"two-injured-in-westfield-valley-fair-shopping-mall-shooting-on-black-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/73995\/","title":{"rendered":"Two injured in Westfield Valley Fair shopping mall shooting on Black Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Black Friday shoppers were sent scrambling for cover after shots were fired at the Westfield Valley Fair mall in Santa Clara, injuring two, police said. <\/p>\n<p>Social media users posted photos of patrons crouched  behind shelving in stores like Abercrombie and fleeing from the mall after hearing gunfire. <\/p>\n<p>Two people were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sjpd_pio\/status\/1994587975301435474?s=46&amp;t=lBL8BjDDWKjwdFrSRzKe6Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">according <\/a>to the San Jos\u00e9 Police Department, which  did not release any other information immediately. <\/p>\n<p>Emergency dispatch calls to the police and fire departments at 5:55 p.m. said there were two to three injured people and the shooter was still at large. Multiple calls starting  around 5:35 p.m. detailed that multiple people were sheltering in place and reported bullet casings and a trail of blood from Macy\u2019s, dispatchers said.<\/p>\n<p>In a later post at 6:31 p.m., the city department said there was no longer an active shooter. <\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived to a chaotic scene, according to their radio dispatch feeds. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have multiple people running across the street,\u201d one emergency responder radioed.
