(KGET) \u2014 The Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office identified a man who was shot and killed outside a restaurant in east Bakersfield Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Jeffery Stevenson, 34, of Bakersfield was pronounced dead at 1:08 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 600 block of Sumner Street, according to coroner\u2019s officials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bakersfield police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area, where they found Stevenson with an apparent gunshot wound. Stevenson was shot, the coroner\u2019s office confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/man-found-dead-east-bakersfield-143754520.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:RELATED: Man shot, found dead outside popular Sumner St restaurant;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> RELATED: Man shot, found dead outside popular Sumner St restaurant <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Footage of the scene showed officers outside Pyrenees Cafe in the corner of Sumner and Kern Streets, with a body covered by a tarp on the curb outside the restaurant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating this case as a homicide.
