Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 6 p.m. local time near Lucille Avenue, about six miles north of downtown Stockton.<\/p>\n
Heather Brent, spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, said the shooting took place inside an event hall located behind a Dairy Queen restaurant, where a family celebration was being held.<\/p>\n
Brent added that the victims \u2014 ranging from minors to adults \u2014 were transported to local hospitals. She noted that \u201cinitial indications suggest this may have been a targeted incident,\u201d emphasizing that information remains \u201cvery limited\u201d at this time. (CNN)
