1.\u00a0World AIDS Day to be marked in West Hollywood, East Hollywood, Lincoln Heights<\/a><\/p>\n Events in Los Angeles County on Monday to mark World AIDS Day will include an evening of reflection in Lincoln Heights, a gathering in West Hollywood and a commemorative event aimed at the Latino community in East Hollywood.<\/p>\n The 32nd annual Noche de las Memorias in Lincoln Park will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m and include family testimonials, music, prayer and the unveiling of newly inscribed names at The AIDS Monument during a candlelight ceremony.<\/p>\n The event will highlight “the urgent need to restore HIV testing, prevention and education services after recent federal funding cuts,” organizers said.<\/p>\n The first World AIDS Day gathering at STORIES: The AIDS Monument will honor lives lost to AIDS-related illnesses and uplift the voices of those living with HIV and AIDS.<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0Fire ravaged communities seek support during Small Business Saturday<\/a><\/p>\n The Saturday after Thanksgiving is traditionally a time to support small businesses and bolster local economies \u2014 and Saturday was no different.<\/p>\n Dozens of Los Angeles-area retailers offered incentives to lure Saturday shoppers seeking unique, less commercialized, gifts, meals and entertainment.<\/p>\n In 2024, consumers spent an estimated $22 billion at independent retailers and restaurants during Small Business Saturday, according to American Express, which started the annual promotion in 2010 under the banner \u201cShop Small.\u201d<\/p>\n A Forbes Research survey showed support for small businesses has surged from 65% in 2024 to 81% in 2025.<\/p>\n For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $68 stays in the local economy compared to just $43 when spent at a national chain, the American Independent Business Alliance officials said.<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0Holiday season comes to Hollywood with annual Christmas parade\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n Thanksgiving is behind us and Christmas is right around the corner, so Hollywood got into the holiday spirit Sunday with the 93rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, Supporting Marine Toys for Tots.<\/p>\n Dozens of celebrities and local officials took part in the 3.2-mile procession at 6 p.m., which moved west from Hollywood Boulevard to Orange Drive to Vine Street, then headed south to Sunset Boulevard and west on Sunset back to Orange.<\/p>\n Actor Luke Wilson, known for roles in films including “Legally Blonde,” “Old School,” “Idiocracy” and “The Royal Tenenbaums,” served as the parade’s grand marshal.<\/p>\n “I’m honored to serve as the grand marshal of this year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade joining an esteemed list of Hollywood legends, and excited to support Marine Toys for Tots to bring joy to children in need this holiday season,” Wilson said in a statement.<\/p>\n The Riverview High School marching band, from Sarasota, Fla.,marches in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, Sunday, Nov 26, 2006, in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles.
