The San Jose Sharks have added forward Pavol Regenda to the roster after placing defenseman Vincent Desharnais on injured reserve.<\/p>\n

Per head coach Ryan Warsofsky, the defenseman\u2019s injury has been lingering for some time. The injury isn\u2019t related to the puck he took off the visor in the San Jose Sharks\u2019 6-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was effective. Really good. We missed him on the penalty kill, his length, obviously, and his size,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cHe tried gutting through it there for a while now, and just got [to be] a little too much.\u201d<\/p>\n Regenda, who was waived<\/a> at the end of Sharks training camp, earned his first recall after a strong preseason.<\/p>\n Advertisement. Play a simple game, physical.\u201d<\/p>\n Regenda skated on the Sharks\u2019 fourth line with Barclay Goodrow<\/a> at center and Ryan Reaves on right wing. Regenda was also on the second power play unit at the morning skate.<\/p>\n \u201cJust gives us some size. Had a good training camp. You know, he deserves a chance,\u201d Warsofsky said. \u201cHe\u2019s been playing well. Playing the heavy style that we\u2019ve been looking for. Competitive, gets to the dirty areas, gets to the inside.\u201d<\/p>\n Adam Gaudette is a game-time decision due to illness and did not participate in the morning skate. He upgraded their injury timelines to day-to-day and expects them to practice fully with the team tomorrow.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s morning skate, so good to get them back integrated with the group.
