In a new series of break ins in the San Fernando Valley, two homes in the Encino area took place and a third attempt was made in Tarzana.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the homeowners were home at the time and scared off the would-be burglars.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In one of the burglaries, LAPD said the intruders went into the back yard and broke into the home at around 11 p.m.<\/p>\n
No one was home at the time and it is not clear what they got away with.\u00a0No arrests have been made, LAPD said.<\/p>\n
A couple of hours later before this incident, about two miles away, another home on Ostrom Avenue was also targeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said three people broke in through a back door and then rushed off in a getaway car.\u00a0
There was no description of the car or the burglars and it was not clear what they took from the home.<\/p>\n
No one was home at the time but the same home was hit before back in July when the homeowner was present.
At the time, NBC4 Investigates uncovered court documents with information about gunfire inside the home.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was revealed that a man shot an intruder in the leg to protect his family. That intruder was 14-years-old.<\/p>\n
A neighbor in the area said he feels like security measures he and his neighbors are taking like cameras amd alarm systems aren\u2019t working.
A third attempted break in also took place in Tarzana within an estimated 5-mile radius and in the same three-hour time span.
In the case of the home in Tarzana, police said the homeowner was inside and heard someone trying to get in through the back door, but the would-be-intruders ran off.<\/p>\n
