{"id":80906,"date":"2025-12-04T04:50:17","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T04:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/80906\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T04:50:17","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T04:50:17","slug":"investigators-search-california-home-in-connection-to-pinetop-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/80906\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigators search California home in connection to Pinetop murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">EL CENTRO, CA (AZFamily) \u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.navajocountyaz.gov\/157\/Sheriff\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.navajocountyaz.gov\/157\/Sheriff\">Navajo County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/a> (NCSO) said the search for a killer has taken a new twist as investigators searched homes in a rural southeastern California city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies sought the public\u2019s help in identifying who was responsible for the shooting death of 59\u2011year\u2011old Kerri Ann Abatti at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2025\/11\/27\/deputies-identify-woman-shot-killed-pinetop-seek-tips-public\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2025\/11\/27\/deputies-identify-woman-shot-killed-pinetop-seek-tips-public\/\">Pinetop home on the night of Nov. 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The sheriff\u2019s office said detectives had searched several properties in <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/GrnihaM2k95SKieP7\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/GrnihaM2k95SKieP7\">El Centro, California<\/a>, on Tuesday. El Centro is about 60 miles west of Yuma. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Investigators said the homes are connected to the Abatti family and their business. Authorities also searched Michael Abatti\u2019s home in El Centro, along with his two camp trailers and two family-owned cars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies have not said how Michael is related to Kerri.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThese warrants were obtained and executed based on the result of the ongoing homicide investigation and evidence developed by detectives,\u201d NCSO said Wednesday in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/2025\/11\/21\/womans-death-ruled-homicide-pinetop-deputies-urge-public-avoid-area\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investigators ruled Kerri\u2019s death a homicide<\/a>, they remained tight-lipped about the details surrounding her death or what led them to her body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cFurther information will be released when appropriate and when it will not compromise the integrity of the case,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office concluded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">See a spelling or grammatical error in our story? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azfamily.com\/page\/send-us-your-feedback\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Please click here to report it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\">Do you have a photo or video of a breaking news story?
