The San Jose Sharks have sent injured prospect Michael Misa down to the American Hockey League on a conditioning loan.<\/p>\n
Officially, the Sharks placed Misa on LTIR before sending him down to the San Jose Barracuda<\/a>. The forward has been out since Nov. 5 with an injury that occurred in the morning skate<\/a> before facing the Seattle Kraken.<\/p>\n Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky revealed before Wednesday\u2019s game that Misa, the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, is getting closer to returning. The goal for the conditioning loan is to get the 18-year-old back into game action.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s excited. We talked to him. It will be good for him to go down there and play. He\u2019s been out for a bit,\u201d Warsofsky said about Misa. \u201cIt\u2019s a challenging league, it\u2019s a tough league. Respect it and get to his game.\u201d<\/p>\n Misa would not usually be available to be sent down to the AHL due to his age. While being injured is not normally good, getting game action at any professional level could be beneficial for his development.<\/p>\n The timing of Misa\u2019s return to game action with the Barracuda could not be coming at a better time. The \u2018Cuda had a red-hot November, finishing with a record of 10-1-1-1.<\/p>\n He will also join forces with former Juniors teammate Igor Chernyshov<\/a>, who was just named the AHL\u2019s rookie of the month for November. In 13 games, Chernyshov had ten goals and six assists.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s a good group,\u201d Warsofsky said of the \u2018Cuda. \u201cIt is a good mix down there. \u201cHe obviously knows some of the players as well.
