BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A Bakersfield man, who was driving a Freightliner box truck, was arrested for allegedly rear-ending a car, killing the driver in Paso Robles early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
The Paso Robles Police Department said on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at about 5:30 a.m., officers and paramedics were called to a crash at the intersection of Golden Hill Road and Highway 46.<\/p>\n
Police said the vehicles involved were a four-door Lexus and a 2017 Freightliner box truck.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Lexus, identified as a 63-year-old Paso Robles man, had been stopped at a red light on westbound Highway 46 at Golden Hill Road.<\/p>\n
According to police, the Freightliner, also traveling westbound, approached the intersection and failed to slow down, hitting the Lexus from behind.<\/p>\n
The impact killed the driver of the Lexus.<\/p>\n
Paso Robles police said the Freightliner\u2019s driver, identified as 25-year-old Gean Marco HuamanCastro of Bakersfield, was arrested for vehicular manslaughter. HuamanCastro was later booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
