SAN MATEO COUNTY \u2014 A man drowned while fishing Wednesday on the San Mateo County coast, officials said.<\/p>\n
Crews were called to Bean Hollow State Beach near Pescadero around 3 p.m. for reports of a person in the water, according to the Cal Fire San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit.<\/p>\n
A woman said she and her husband were wearing waders and fishing when he vanished.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe went to their car for something, and when she came back, he was gone,\u201d Cal Fire said.<\/p>\n
A bystander spotted the man, and firefighters pulled him from the water. They gave him CPR, but he died at the scene.<\/p>\n
The San Mateo County Coroner\u2019s Office identified the man on Thursday as 32-year-old Sida \u201cFrank\u201d Li, a resident of San Jose.<\/p>\n
He is the fourth person to die off the California coast in recent weeks. Amanpreet Thind, a 35-year-old U.S. Army specialist from New Jersey, was swept into the ocean at Soberanes Point<\/a> in Garrapata State Park on Nov. 22.
