BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A 29-year-old Arvin man died after being crushed while working to remove an oil rig in Fresno County Monday morning.<\/p>\n
The Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office said on Monday, December 1, 2025, at around 10:45 a.m., a 911 call was made to report an injured man in a field near Mt. Whitney and Polk Avenues in Riverdale.<\/p>\n
Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s deputies and EMS members arrived and found a 29-year-old man, identified as Alfredo Oronia of Arvin, who died as a result of severe injuries he suffered.<\/p>\n
FCSO said a preliminary investigation showed that the victim was working as part of a company to remove an oil rig from the property. During the process, a large piece of steel from the rig swung down and crushed the man.<\/p>\n
