Knott\u2019s Scary Farm lets you control the lights on rides and attractions with the help of an interactive lantern that triggers special effects at more than 100 locations around the park.<\/p>\n

The $48 interactive lantern sold during Knott\u2019s Scary Farm<\/a> lets visitors trigger lighting effects on rides and attractions throughout the Buena Park theme park.<\/p>\n

Knott\u2019s Berry Farm maze designer Gus Krueger revealed the secret special effects<\/a> the interactive lantern triggers during a video posted to Instagram.<\/p>\n

The Knott\u2019s Scary Farm interactive lantern can trigger special effects at more than 100 activation locations. A digital map helps you find all the spots throughout the park.<\/p>\n

Flipping a switch on the bottom of the lantern turns it from static to interactive mode. Pressing the button on the front of the lantern sets off special effects when you are within range of the activation location.<\/p>\n

The lighting effects triggered by the interactive lantern on four Knott\u2019s attractions:<\/p>\n

Turn the K sign at the top of the Sky Cabin to a flaming lighting scheme
\nActivate smoke effects and turn the exterior a fiery red on the Jaguar coaster temple facade
\nBriefly turn out the lights on the exterior of the Calico Mine Ride
\nChange the lighting scheme on the Supreme Scream drop tower from green to red<\/p>\n

Beyond the rides, the Knott\u2019s Scary Farm interactive lantern can trigger effects in the 10 haunted mazes<\/a> and five scare zones throughout the park.<\/p>\n

The lantern can make a skeleton pop out of the Forsaken Lake, activate audio effects at the Blind Tiger speakeasy front door, bring a terrifying spider tree to life, launch a newscast at a Gore-ing \u201820s newsstand and open the lid on a glowing casket.<\/p>\n

Knott\u2019s Scary Farm runs on select nights through Nov. 1\u00a0at Knott\u2019s Berry Farm.<\/p>\n
