BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A man who inappropriately touched an underage girl was convicted in a sexual molestation case on Thursday, announced the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n
The DA said that on Dec. 4, 2025, Larry Twyman was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under 14 years old and false imprisonment.<\/p>\n
In the incident on March 28, 2025, Twyman inappropriately touched a minor who was a family acquaintance. She attempted to run, but Twyman grabbed her shirt and held her down while he continued the assault, said prosecutors. She escaped and later reported the incident.<\/p>\n
This is not Twyman’s first conviction involving similar behavior. In 1981, he was sentenced to seven years in an Arizona prison for sexual conduct with a minor in Yuma County. Under Arizona law, his conviction did not qualify as a prior strike offense.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwyman has demonstrated a troubling pattern of sexual misconduct involving vulnerable children. While it is unfortunate that his Arizona conviction does not qualify as a strike offense, this new conviction will. In addition to a prison sentence, Twyman will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to ongoing monitoring,” stated DA Cynthia Zimmer.<\/p>\n
