\n\tDua Lipa<\/a> welcomed Green Day<\/a> frontman Billie Joe Armstrong<\/a> to the stage at San Francisco\u2019s Chase Center\u00a0last night to perform the band\u2019s 2004 hit \u201cWake Me When September Ends.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSan Francisco, how you feeling?\u201d Lipa told before bringing Armstrong on stage. \u201cEvery night we do a different surprise song by a local artist, and I immediately thought about San Francisco and all the incredible music that has come out of here. I thought about one band in particular\u2026 Join me in welcoming the incredible Billie Joe from Green Day!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tLast night marked the singer\u2019s second show at Chase Center. On Saturday night, Oct. 11, she paid tribute to another Bay Area artist with a cover of \u201cPiece of My Heart,\u201d originally performed by Big Brother & the Holding Company with Janis Joplin.<\/p>\n \n\tDua Lipa has regularly performed covers during her Radical Optimism tour, sometimes bringing the artists out on stage with her. Last week, she was joined<\/a> on stage at Los Angeles\u2019 Kia Forum by Gwen Stefani for a rendition of No Doubt classic \u201cDon\u2019t Speak.\u201d \u201cI wanted to dive into one of my personal heroes. One of my favorite artists, and who I grew up listening to my whole life,\u201d Lipa told the crowd. \u201cSomeone who\u2019s influenced my music, my style, someone who I love as a performer, and someone who constantly keeps redefining herself and music. I just absolutely love her.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n \n\tShe later told Rolling Stone<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019ve loved Gwen my whole life. I\u2019ve found her so inspiring. I\u2019ve loved her music. I love her toughness. I love her voice. I love everything that she stood for. For me, it was a big childhood dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThere are two more shows left on Dua Lipa\u2019s North American Radical Optimism run, both in Seattle. She will head to South America and Mexico through November and early December. Speaking to Rolling Stone, she confirmed she\u2019s\u00a0working with Mark Ronson\u00a0<\/a>on new music again, but declined to tease the era any further. \u201cI love working with Mark,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m so inspired by him.
