PORTERVILLE, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 Four kids and one adult were tragically killed in a fire Sunday night in Porterville.<\/p>\n
The Porterville Fire Departments says they were called out to South Indiana Street around 11:18 p.m. for reports of a structure fire.<\/p>\n
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the home and went into rescue mode.<\/p>\n
During a search, they found multiple victims inside the home, with one adult and four children were removed.<\/p>\n
Despite lifesaving efforts, all five were pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The identities of the victims are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a devastating loss for the family and for our community,\u201d said Fire Chief Bryan Cogburn. \u201cOur thoughts and condolences are with the loved ones affected by this tragedy.”<\/p>\n
