FRESNO, Calif. — A park in central Fresno will soon have a new look.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Mayor Jerry Dyer and Councilmember Nelson Esparza broke ground at Radio Park, marking a new era for the neighborhood meeting spot.<\/p>\n
The renovations include new features and amenities, including an amphitheatre, a splash pad and a play structure.<\/p>\n
Accessible paths across the park are also in the works, along with new trees to provide shade.<\/p>\n
Mayor Dyer says the improvements will provide a safe place for families to enjoy.<\/p>\n
“For generations, families who have lived in this neighborhood have gone without what so many in our community take for granted in a park: a safe, welcoming, vibrant green space,” he says. “Every community deserves that. In fact, every child deserves it, and so today, we’re taking a big step toward making that a reality.”<\/p>\n
Radio Park will also feature electric vehicle chargers, an expanded parking lot and a new bus stop.<\/p>\n
The project is expected to be completed in early 2027.
