Nearly 50 years since her last divorce, Cher is reportedly getting ready to give marriage another try, with multiple tabloids picking up on a report that says that the 79-year-old entertainment icon is set to tie the knot with her 39-year-old boyfriend, Oakland-born music producer Alexander \u201cAE\u201d Edwards.<\/p>\n

\u201cCher doesn\u2019t give a hoot about their (40-year) age difference and they\u2019re both ready to commit to each other,\u201d an insider told the Mirror, according to Page Six<\/a> and the Daily Mail.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Cher gushed about her romance with Edwards on \u201cCBS Mornings\u201d last month, according to the Daily Mail. \u201cYou know, you get older but your spirit is younger. I just love him. I think he\u2019s beautiful and he\u2019s really talented,\u201d Cher told host Gayle King.<\/p>\n

When asked about people criticizing the 40-year age difference, the singer and actor said, \u201cThey\u2019re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us. We just have a blast.\u201d In another appearance on \u201cThe Kelly Clarkson Show\u201d in December 2022, Cher said, \u201cOn paper, it\u2019s kind of ridiculous. But in real life, we get along great. He\u2019s fabulous. And I don\u2019t give men qualities that they don\u2019t deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cher and Edwards, an executive with Universal Music Group, met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022, and the two made headlines when they were first photographed holding hands several months later, The Sun reported.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Edwards was born in Oakland in 1986, developed a love for hip-hop at a young age and has an ability to spot talent in others, The Sun said. At Universal Music Group, Edwards has worked with Post Malone, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, according to People.<\/a> He\u2019s also worked on rapper Tyga\u2019s independent label Last Kings Records, People said. He and Tyga are often seen in each other\u2019s photos or stepping out together in L.A.<\/p>\n

Edwards previously dated Amber Rose and they share a son, who was born in October 2019. Cher has said she likes spending time with the boy, who is named Slash, and describes him as being \u201csmart, funny\u201d and \u201ca delight,\u201d the Daily Mail reported.<\/p>\n

Engagement rumors first began swirling around Cher and Edwards last year, when he bought her a massive diamond ring as a Christmas gift, People reported. On New Year\u2019s Eve, Cher showed off her new ring in a photo with Edwards \u2014 though she was not wearing the diamond on the engagement-ring finger. While a source subsequently told People that the couple were not \u201ctalking marriage\u201d just yet, the source said, \u201cThey are very much in love. They are exclusive and serious. Cher likes that he\u2019s young. It\u2019s exciting for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cher also told People about finding love in her 70s: \u201cWhat I learned is that it\u2019s never too late. If you wrote out all the statistics, you would go, \u2018Well, this is doomed.\u2019 But we\u2019ve been together a year, and if it was just a year, it would\u2019ve been worth it. I\u2019ve had the best time.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Cher were to marry Edwards, he would become her third husband. She was previously married to Sonny Bono from 1969 to 1975 and to Gregg Allman from 1978 to 1979. She\u2019s also dated a few other famous men over the decades \u2014 including Warren Beatty, David Geffen, Gene Simmons, Val Kilmer, Tom Cruise and Richie Sambora, according to Elle.<\/p>\n

Both Kilmer and Cruise were younger when they dated her, according to People. So was baker Rob Camilletti, who was only 22 when they started seeing each other in 1987, when she was in her early 40s. He was her boyfriend when she won her best actress Oscar for \u201cMoonstruck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe truth was if I hadn\u2019t gone out with younger men, I would have never had a date,\u201d Cher told People in 2021. \u201cYounger men weren\u2019t intimidated by older women. But older men in my age category, they weren\u2019t having it.\u201d<\/p>\n
