One person has died following an incident involving two dump trucks at the Yolo County landfill near Davis Wednesday morning, officials say.<\/p>\n
The incident happened around 7:20 a.m. at the landfill near County Roads 28H and 104. <\/p>\n
First responders found that a trailer portion of one dump truck landed on the cab of another dump truck while unloading. Both trucks involved were from the Northern Recycling company.<\/p>\n
Officials at the scene confirmed the cab with a driver inside was killed in the accident.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Due to the type of incident, Yolo County officials say extensive extrication efforts were needed to remove the person.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We are deeply grateful to the first responders and staff who acted swiftly and professionally under very difficult circumstances,” said Yolo County Board of Supervisors Chair Mary Vixie Sandy in a statement.<\/p>\n
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office will be investigating incident, along with Cal-OSHA.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No other details about the incident, including any information about the person who died, have been released at this time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
