(FOX40.COM) \u2014 The 2025 Ironman California race is right around the corner, and streets throughout downtown and midtown Sacramento are expected to close for the thousands of athletes expected to participate.<\/p>\n
The race begins at 7 a.m. on Sunday and ends at the California State Capitol.<\/p>\n

The City of Sacramento said street closures began on Tuesday ahead of the race, and will open up again on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n
Capitol Mall from Third Street to Fifth Street and Fourth Street from Capitol Mall to L Street\u00a0closed on Oct. 14 and will reopen on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n
According to officials with the city, Capitol Mall from Fifth Street to Seventh Street will close at 6 a.m. on Oct. 17 and will reopen at 5 p.m. on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n
Race Day street closures include: <\/p>\n
Neasham Circle from Front Street to Front Street: Closes at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday and opens at 12:30 a.m. on Monday<\/p>\n
Tower Bridge from Riverfront Street to Front Street: Closes at 7 a.m. and opens at midnight on Monday<\/p>\n
Front Street Southbound from Neasham Circle to R St Overpass: Closes at 2 p.m. and opens at 1:00 a.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n
R Street from Second to Sixth streets: Closes at 2 p.m. and opens at 1:00 a.m. on Monday<\/p>\n
Fifth Street from R to L streets: Closes at 2 p.m. and opens at 1:30 a.m. on Monday<\/p>\n
Westbound I-50 off-ramp from 5th\u00a0Street and eastbound I-50 on-ramp from River Road on-ramp near 15th\u00a0Street will close at 7 a.m. and open back up at 7 p.m. on race day.<\/p>\n
