(File photo courtesy of the San Diego Police Department)<\/p>\n<p>A 60-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his bicycle south of state Route 56 in Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos, authorities said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The collision that killed the man happened around 5:35 p.m. Wednesday. A 51-year-old woman behind the wheel of a northbound 2019 Toyota Camry collided with the rear tire of the bicycle at 12900 Salmon River Road, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiego.gov\/police\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Police Department<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the driver \u201cdid not see\u201d the bicyclist. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Driving under the influence was not believed to be a factor in the collision, but officers with SDPD\u2019s Traffic Division are investigating.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call the police or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.<\/p>\n<p>READ NEXT\n\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A San Diego police cruiser at the scene of an investigation.
