The city is home to about 160,000 residents in the East Bay, 15 miles\u00a0south of Oakland.\u00a0<\/p>\n Pacific Gas & Electric Co. was alerted around 7:35 a.m. that a construction crew \u2014 not with the utility \u2014 had damaged an underground gas line.
