A Fresno attorney is planning a class action lawsuit against the city over its anti-encampment law.<\/p>\n
Two men have been charged under the new encampment law, but both cases were dismissed.<\/p>\n
The law is described as broadly banning sitting, lying, sleeping, or camping on any public property, anytime, including sidewalks, parks, and entrances, with penalties up to a year in jail and\/or a $1,000 fine. <\/p>\n
However, city leaders are pushing back that steps have been taken to deal with the homeless crisis.<\/p>\n
Governor Gavin Newsom has partnered with Caltrans to clean up encampments.<\/p>\n
