LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles<\/a> jury awarded $40 million on Friday to two women who claimed that talcum powder made by\u00a0Johnson & Johnson\u00a0caused their ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n The giant\u00a0health care company\u00a0said it would appeal the jury\u2019s liability verdict and compensatory damages.<\/p>\n The verdict is the latest development in a longstanding legal battle over claims that talc in Johnson\u2019s Baby Powder and Shower to Shower body power was connected to ovarian cancer and mesothelioma, a cancer that strikes the lungs and other organs.
