San Francisco Fire Department<\/p>\n<p>Two people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, 11 others were hospitalized with \u201cminor aches and pains,\u201d and two people refused assistance at the scene, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Fire officials<a href=\"https:\/\/abc7news.com\/post\/several-people-injured-cable-car-stop-crash-san-francisco-fire-officials-say\/18290090\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> told ABC7<\/a> that an object might have been thrown at the cable car, causing the abrupt stop. Authorities have not officially released information on what led up to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the cable car\u2019s windows were completely shattered, according to photos of the aftermath. Video posted by fire officials also captured several ambulances crowded around the stopped cable car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSafety for our passengers on all Muni vehicles continues to be our top priority.
