(WOWT) &#8211; The saga of a Southwest Omaha eyesore now moves to the courts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A California-based real estate company is suing the city of Omaha for what it terms is a breach of an agreement surrounding the old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wowt.com\/2025\/05\/02\/omaha-hotel-property-with-troubled-history-sold-nearly-1-million\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wowt.com\/2025\/05\/02\/omaha-hotel-property-with-troubled-history-sold-nearly-1-million\/\">Westmont Inn hotel<\/a> near 109th and M streets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">First Alert 6 has obtained a copy of the lawsuit filing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It states that Newport Blue Impact of Newport Beach, California, was not granted due process when the Omaha City Council passed a resolution using KENO funds to demolish the long-time abandoned building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The company is asking a district court judge to issue a temporary restraining order and a temporary injunction stopping any attempts to demolish the property by the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Newport Blue claims the company would suffer irreparable harm if the site is demolished, as the property\u2019s value would drop from $8.8 million to around $800,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WOWT.
