FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A woman has died and a young girl is in the hospital in critical condition following a crash in Fresno County.<\/p>\n
The California Highway Patrol says the crash happened at the intersection of Jefferson and Walnut avenues just after 10 a.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Officers say the woman who was killed was driving a Honda Civic north on Walnut when she ran a stop sign and collided with a Chevy Tahoe traveling east on Jefferson.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the girl, who was a passenger in the Civic, was not in a child’s car seat and was partially ejected.<\/p>\n
She was taken to the hospital, where she is listed in critical condition. The woman driving the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
A man and two teenage boys who were in the Chevy Tahoe were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.<\/p>\n
It’s unclear if alcohol and or drugs are factors in this crash.<\/p>\n
The intersection of Jefferson and Walnut is expected to be closed for at least the next two hours as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n
