{"id":99175,"date":"2025-12-18T03:26:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T03:26:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/99175\/"},"modified":"2025-12-18T03:26:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-18T03:26:06","slug":"san-jose-man-arrested-on-suspicion-of-murder-in-connection-with-fatal-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/99175\/","title":{"rendered":"San Jose man arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with fatal crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SANTA CLARA \u2013 A 21-year-old San Jose man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and reckless driving in connection with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2024\/12\/13\/san-jose-man-killed-two-others-injured-in-santa-clara-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">fatal collision roughly a year ago in Santa Clara<\/a>, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The two-vehicle crash happened on Stevens Creek Boulevard near Tyler Street around 12:20 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2024, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a pickup truck was traveling westbound when it collided with an SUV making a left turn from the eastbound direction into a driveway.<\/p>\n<p>Officers arrived to find the SUV driver, a 66-year-old San Jose man, on the ground and his passenger, a 65-year-old San Jose woman, inside the vehicle, both suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said. They were rushed to an area hospital, where the man died.<\/p>\n<p>Police said a passenger in the pickup truck was also injured, but the driver was unscathed.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation ultimately determined the pickup truck driver, identified as Kevin Alexander Alvareztostadorizo, was \u201ctraveling at a speed that was both excessive and reckless for the roadway and conditions,\u201d police said.
