The victory continues a strong run for Gu, who also won the Orlando International Amateur Juniors (Boys 16–18) title last week after surviving a four-man playoff.
Barry Zhang, a Harvard sophomore from China, finished runner-up at 8-under 207 (69-67-71).
Gu began the final round tied with Zhang but separated himself with a controlled, mistake-free closing stretch. Zhang made a few costly errors early and spent the rest of the round chasing.
Gu has now played 22 ranked events in 2025, collecting three wins and eight other top-10 finishes. Two of those victories came in major junior starts: the AJGA AM Technical Solutions Junior at Southpointe in July, where he set a tournament record at 9-under, and the Florida Junior Tour Labor Day Major in September.
