ARLINGTON, Texas — Ohio State left tackle Austin Siereveld was injured during the first half of Wednesday’s College Football Playoff game against Miami.
While he played through the injury initially, he did not take the field to start the second half. Instead, Ian Moore was tasked with protecting quarterback Julian Sayin’s blindside.
Siereveld has started every game for Ohio State this season. After spending most of his career as an interior lineman, he moved to tackle in the offseason.
Siereveld played 781 offensive snaps entering the College Football Playoff and was arguably the Buckeyes’ best lineman. He allowed only 10 pressures and no sacks through Ohio State’s first 13 games, according to Pro Football Focus.
Moore has started just one game in his collegiate career. It came in November against Purdue when he played 66 snaps at right tackle.
Moore, an Indiana native, was a four-star prospect in the 2024 signing class.
