ExpandMiami-Dade Fire Rescue engine (WPLG)

Miami-Dade County, Fla. — A crash near Southwest 117th Avenue and Southwest 224th Street prompted a large emergency response Saturday afternoon, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Authorities said it happened around 3:35 p.m. and involved at least eight people. More than six MDFR units responded to the scene.

They said one adult was transported by ground to a nearby trauma center. Two other individuals with minor injuries were also taken to a local hospital, according to MDFR.

The remaining five individuals were evaluated at the scene and released, officials said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
