FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A South Florida hospital is welcoming its first baby New Year.
The baby girl, Jaylyn Grace Joseph, was born on Thursday, January 1, at 1:36 a.m., the HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital announced.

Jaylyn Grace weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces at birth and is doing well alongside her parents, Katelyn Fountain and Dunkens Joseph.
“Welcoming the first babies of the New Year is always a meaningful moment for our hospital and our community,” said Eric Goldman, Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital. “It represents hope, new beginnings, and the privilege our team has in caring for families during some of life’s most important moments.”
The hospital says its maternity team provides comprehensive, personalized care for mothers and their babies, continuing to support families throughout pregnancy, delivery, and beyond.
