ORLANDO, Fla. — The high school basketball season is now in full swing. Lake Highland Prep is off to a great start. Leading the way for the Highlanders is senior guard RJ Ingram.

What You Need To Know

Senior guard RJ Ingram has been at Lake Highland since 8th grade

He is now the leader for the Highlanders on the court, averaging over 10 points a game.

Ingram’s goal is to play at the next level following his high school career.

RJ Ingram is in his senior season at Lake Highland Prep. He is leading a veteran team while averaging over 10 points a game so far this season.

“He’s an awesome teammate. He cares a ton about other guys. He’s selfless and puts others first,” Lake Highland boys basketball coach Ben Fratrik said. “He’s just so comfortable and so at ease in his own skin. Everybody knows about the right things. So it’s not to follow that.”

“We’re really starting to come together as a team,” Ingram said. “It’s great. Just getting everybody on the same page. Having the same guys from last year, we’re really just building our chemistry even further than it was before. I can tell we’re going to go far.”

Opposing defenses will try and slow RJ down this year. He’s focused on making the right plays and getting his teammates involved.

“He’s as good of a high school player as we’ve seen. We played against some really good players and some really good teams. RJ rises to the occasion most nights. He’s a very, very good player,” Fratrik said.
