5 things to know about the FL Key Lime Pie Festival

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. — Key lime pie is Florida’s official state pie, and an annual festival celebrates that!

1. The original Florida Key Lime Pie Festival started back in 2012, and it’s just a few weeks away.

2. It’s hosted by the Florida Key Lime Pie Company of Cocoa Beach.

3. The festival has pie eating and hula hoop contests, and key lime-flavored everything. The pie is served up in all kinds of styles as well, from a traditional slice, to slices dipped in key lime chocolate on a stick.

4. The fest creator has a clear vision for the event’s vibes. “An essence about everything to do about Florida – the sunshine, the beach and, of course, key lime pie,” Florida Key Lime Pie Co. owner Louie Morehead said.

5. Morehead says they’ll have 30 food trucks there, as well as street performers. It’s taking Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Brevard Veterans Memorial Park Amphitheater in Merritt Island.
