FSU’s quarterback board is coming into focus.

Prior to the transfer portal officially opening on Jan. 2, the Seminoles were connected to Old Dominion’s Colton Joseph, and he appeared to be their top quarterback target. While his rushing ability would have made him a great fit in Gus Malzahn’s offense, it wasn’t meant to be, and the parties have gone their separate ways.

The Wisconsin Badgers emerged as the top school in his recruitment, and he committed to them on Sunday without ever visiting FSU. He was ranked as the No. 155 overall player and No. 19 quarterback in the transfer portal by 247Sports.

He has completed 59.8% of his passes for 4,251 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions during his career. He has also rushed for 1,654 yards and 24 more scores and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

While he was a target for the Seminoles, he was far from the only one, and they still have several more available and expected to visit Tallahassee.

Former UNLV Rebels quarterback Anthony Colandrea is set to visit on Sunday, as is former Florida Gators quarterback DJ Lagway. They are not the only two, either, as former Auburn Tigers quarterback Ashton Daniels is expected to visit on Monday. All three of them are capable runners who would fit well in Malzahn’s system.
