Miami quarterback Carson Beck is no longer a Heisman Trophy favorite after Friday’s upset loss to unranked Louisville.
Beck’s Heisman odds dropped from +360 to +5000 after he threw four interceptions during No. 2 Miami’s 24-21 defeat, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
Now that early-season Heisman favorites like Beck and Texas’ Arch Manning have fallen out of favor, some new names have climbed to the top of the Heisman Trophy odds.
Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza (+240), Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson (+360) and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin (+425) led the DraftKings odds as of Saturday.
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton, who just helped Georgia hand Ole Miss its first loss of the season, meanwhile, climbed to +1200 in the latest odds.
Three more quarterbacks round out the list of top Heisman candidates with Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed (+1600), Notre Dame’s CJ Carr (+2000 ) and Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss (+2000).
Chambliss could see his stock sink while Stockton’s climbs after Georgia won Saturday’s matchup with Ole Miss.
Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith remains the non-quarterback with the best odds to win that trophy at +2200.
Former Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter took home the Heisman last year, making him the first non-quarterback winner in four years.
It looks like oddsmakers are expecting the award to go back to a signal-caller when the next Heisman Trophy is handed out this winter.
