TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The 29th annual Demp Week kicks off Monday bringing the community loads of fun while celebrating a local celebrity.
DJ Demp hosts week-long festivities every year for his birthday bringing neighbors together and highlighting the importance of art, history and culture.
“This week is about the city coming together and having a great time and celebrating,” he said.

One notable event is his Anti Bully Rally. He shared why this week is so special to him and the importance of spreading kindness.
“Just being able to talk to the kids about bullying and bullying prevention means a lot because a lot of kids go through it, a lot of adults go through it,” he said. “But this is where all the kids come together and are able to share that moment.”
The Anti Bully Rally is Saturday from Noon-3 p.m. and the celebrity basketball game is set for Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the FAMU Gaither Gym for a full list of Demp Week events just head to his website.
