Wine lovers and comedy fans alike can raise a glass when In Pour Taste: A Comedy Wine Tasting Experience comes to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts from Jan. 8–25 in Fort Lauderdale.
Presented by James Seabright, the interactive show blends stand-up comedy, live wine education and audience participation into an evening that’s equal parts laughs and libations.
Hosted by comedians Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh, In Pour Taste pairs sharp, fast-paced humor with the guidance of an expert sommelier, who helps lead guests through the tasting of five wines over the course of the performance. The result is a show that’s as welcoming to seasoned sauvignon sippers as it is to curious chardonnay newcomers.
Throughout the evening, the performers tackle some of the wine world’s most pressing and absurd questions, including “How far should you extend your pinky while sipping?” “What exactly is a tannin and should you be afraid of it?” “And who, exactly, is parked in the loading bay and about to get towed?” The answers may not appear in traditional wine guides, but they’re guaranteed to be delivered with plenty of punchlines.
Each ticket includes five wine tastings along with a personal charcuterie board, making the event feel more like a party than a typical night at the theatre. Vegetarian charcuterie options are available upon request and guests who prefer not to drink alcohol can request an alcohol-free option in advance, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience.
In Pour Taste arrives in South Florida following a highly successful international run. The show debuted to sell-out crowds in Toronto before enjoying a New York season and packed tours and festival appearances across the UK and Australia.
Whether you’re looking for a unique date night, a group outing with friends or simply an excuse to laugh while learning something new about wine, In Pour Taste promises an evening where the jokes flow just as freely as the pours.
