The neighborhood where the body was found is in an upscale part of South Tampa, behind several large and expensive homes. A canal that begins on the eastern edge of Tampa Bay runs through the area, beneath West Shore Boulevard and behind several houses along San Miguel and San Rafael Streets. It is in the heart of what police call “The Champagne District.”

No other details were immediately released.
