Board expansion strengthens resident representation to reflect Downtown Miami’s evolution into a thriving urban neighborhood
The Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA) is now accepting applications for three resident positions on its Board of Directors. The open positions include one Brickell resident, one Arts & Entertainment District resident, and one at-large resident who may live anywhere within the Miami DDA district boundaries. The expansion reflects Downtown Miami’s continued evolution into a vibrant, growing residential urban neighborhood.
“Downtown Miami has changed dramatically in recent years, with more people choosing to live, work, and raise families here than ever before,” said City of Miami Commissioner Ralph Rosado, Chairman of the Miami DDA. “As Downtown Miami evolves, it’s essential that more of the people who call it home have a seat at the table.”
Two of the open positions are newly created seats added through a recent amendment to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Miami. The Board of Directors now consists of 17 members, three public sector appointees and 14 individuals who either own property, reside or work in the district, all of whom are dedicated to supporting the economic development of Downtown Miami.
Interested applicants must submit a letter of interest and résumé by January 16, 2026. Submissions may be mailed to Miami DDA Nominating Committee, 201 S. Biscayne Blvd., #2600, Miami, FL 33131 or emailed to manon@miamidda.com.
Board member prerequisites, eligibility requirements and a map of the Miami DDA district may be found at www.miamidda.com.
