FSU has already landed three players out of the transfer portal, but they are still looking for a quarterback. That search could be ending soon, as they appear to have all the momentum with a prospect who recently visited Tallahassee.
Former Auburn Tigers quarterback Ashton Daniels visited the Seminoles on Monday, and it sounds like he could soon be joining their transfer class. On3’s Pete Nakos and Warchant’s Michael Langston have both projected Daniels to sign with FSU. Zach Blostein of Noles247 has also predicted FSU to land the Buford, Georgia, product.
He was not the first quarterback that FSU hosted during the transfer window. UNLV’s Anthony Colandrea and Florida’s DJ Lagway both visited before Daniels made it in, but they both left to visit other schools, and the Seminoles seem to have shifted their focus to Daniels.
Daniels actually started his career at Stanford, spending three seasons with the Cardinals before transferring to Auburn ahead of the 2025 season. He began the year as the backup but ended up starting three games and earning his redshirt, giving him one more season of eligibility.
He completed 57.1% of his passes for 797 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in 2025. He also ran for 280 yards and two touchdowns. His best game of the season was against Vanderbilt, where he completed 70.5% of his passes for 353 yards and touchdowns, adding 89 yards and two more scores on the ground.
Daniels played in 33 games at Stanford, with his 2024 season coming in the ACC. He completed 60.8% of his passes, got 3,986 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in those three seasons. He added 1,117 yards and nine touchdowns.
He is ranked as the No. 313 overall player and No. 26 quarterback in the transfer portal by 247Sports. On3 has him as the No. 431 overall player and No. 33 quarterback.
Daniels will bring starting experience to FSU’s quarterback room, which currently consists of Kevin Sperry and Jaden O’Neal. Sperry played in four games as a true freshman, and O’Neal is entering his true freshman season.
