Three men were arrested on Saturday, accused of being involved in a shooting in Miami’s Design District after stealing someone’s gold chain, police said.

Jamar McKay, 25, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm; Omarion Phillips, 20, was charged with being an accessory, while Kevieon Smith, 21, was charged with possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and resisting an officer.

According to Miami Police, on Saturday, officers arrived at a Supreme clothing store after receiving reports of a man who had been shot.

An arrest report said the victim told officers that the suspects stole his gold chain, which was worth about $22,000, and then they shot him in the stomach. He was then taken to the hospital.

At the hospital, the victim told officers that he was shopping at the store when McKay, Phillips and an unidentified man came up to him, the report said.

The victim said he recognized the men because they’re from the Atlanta area and have had problems before. He then started arguing with one of the suspects, when McKay walked behind him, ripped his gold chain off his neck and fled.

After having his chain stolen, the victim ran after McKay, and the unidentified suspect ran toward him and shot him in the stomach, the report said. The three then left the store and got into a white Mercedes-Benz.

During their investigation, detectives found the Benz on 10th Avenue near 91st Terrace and saw the unidentified suspect, Phillips and McKay leaving the car, the report said. Smith was seen driving the car, as well as after the robbery.

Detectives, the report said, saw the suspects abandoning the Benz and then walking in a residential area and eventually entering a home.

After a search of the home. McKay, Phillips and Smith were taken into custody, and the victim’s gold chain, keys to the Benz and the clothes they wore during the robbery were found, the report said.

The alleged shooter in the robbery has not been caught or identified.

McKay, was denied bond, while Phillips was given a $7,500 and Smith was given a $7,501bond.
