TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee Fire Department responded to an early morning house fire on Tuesday.
The fire occurred at a house on Walcott Street at around 1:15 a.m., according to TFD.

When crews arrived, heavy smoke and flames were coming from the single-story home. TFD said the fire was found near the fireplace and had spread to surrounding areas, including into the chimney. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
No one was inside the home when TFD arrived.
According to TFD, the American Red Cross was contacted to help the residents.
