ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WWSB) – Two masked suspects pepper-sprayed employees during a robbery at a CVS pharmacy.
The robbery occurred Jan. 5, around 11:45 p.m. at the CVS located at 301 Third Street South.
St. Petersburg Police Department (SPPD) believe that the suspects are also connected to a series of robberies at other stores in the region.
According to police, the two individuals entered the store wearing face masks. One suspect forced their way behind the counter and pushed a store clerk, while the second sprayed the clerk in the face with a substance believed to be pepper spray. A second employee who attempted to intervene was also sprayed.

The suspects allegedly fled the store on foot with more than $1,000 worth of merchandise, police said.
According to SPPD, both suspects are described as possibly in their 20s with long black braids and wearing blue surgical masks. One suspect was wearing a long-sleeved gray sweatshirt, black joggers with white stripes, and tan Ugg-style boots. The second suspect was wearing a long-sleeved white top with small red hearts, black joggers and sandals.
No serious injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
