City of Cape Coral reduced the posted speed limit on a portion of Old Burnt Store Road from 45 mph to 40 mph, effective immediately. The change applies to the segment between Kismet Parkway West and Caloosa Parkway and follows traffic field investigations and studies conducted in April 2025. City officials said the adjustment is intended to improve safety for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians along the busy north–south corridor in northwest Cape Coral. Updated speed limit signs are in place, with advisory flags posted for 30 days, and enforcement is now underway.
