Investigators said they left with more than $1,000 in store merchandise.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Pete police are searching for two masked robbery suspects caught on surveillance video pepper-spraying sales clerks at a local CVS.

Officers said this happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday when two people seen in footage entered a CVS store in the area of Third Street South wearing masks before one of them went behind the counter and pushed the sales clerk.

The second suspect is shown spraying the clerk in the face with a substance officials believe to be pepper spray.

Police said a second CVS clerk tried to intervene and stop the two, but was also pepper-sprayed.

The two masked individuals were last seen in the footage running out the store. Investigators said they left with more than $1,000 in store merchandise.

SPPD described the suspects as possibly being in their 20s, with long, black braids and both wearing blue surgical masks.

The one who physically pushed the clerk was reportedly wearing a long-sleeved grey sweatshirt, black joggers with white stripes, and tan Ugg-style boots.

The second robber, who detectives said sprayed the clerks, wore a long-sleeved white top with small, red hearts, black joggers and sandals.

Officials explain this is the third store these suspects have robbed in St. Pete since Dec. 1, and also believe they are involved in a series of robberies at other stores across the Tampa Bay area.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780 or text your tip to TIP411.
