4 Miami police officers struck by SUV on Dolphin Expressway Four Miami police motormen were struck by an SUV Wednesday morning on the Dolphin Expressway, authorities confirmed.
MIAMI — Two Miami police motormen were hurt Wednesday morning on the Dolphin Expressway, Miami police confirmed.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near Northwest 42nd Avenue. Officers responded after reports that an SUV had struck multiple motormen who were working on or near the roadway.
According to Miami Police Officer Mike Vega, only two motormen were hurt.
Vega said the injured motormen are expected to be OK and may have suffered possible leg and arm injuries. Two additional motormen were positioned behind them and were not hurt in the crash.

Miami police said a black SUV was believed to be involved; however, investigators are still determining whether the vehicle at the scene was connected to the crash.
Sky 10 flew over the area as police diverted traffic away from the scene. Traffic was heavily impacted while authorities conducted their investigation. Miami police confirmed that three eastbound lanes of the Dolphin Expressway were closed between Northwest 42nd and 57th avenues.
Details about how the crash happened were not immediately available, and the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
